Rooting from the Arabic word “makhazin” defined as a storehouse, magazines have a long history of pleasing the general public. In 1731, Edward Cave created the Gentlemen's Club which is recognized as the first ever published magazine. The Gentlemen's Club consisted of content like essays, poetry,  political issues and even stories about current information were included in this first ever magazine. No form of illustration was within this Gentlemen's publication until 111 years later in 1842 when a British newsagent Herbert Ingram created an illustrated magazine. The sketches of these stories enhanced the sales of these magazines and brought attention to the London News which involved photos. The history of Magazines in America began in 1741 in Philadelphia with two men ,Andrew Bradford and Benjamin Franklin. Although their magazines lasted no longer than 8 months soon after hundreds of other magazines began to arise sparking magazine culture in America.
